I think Superman represents each of our senses of justice and rightness as
westerners. Generally speaking, I think those senses seem absent from us right now.
Our abilities to rise above the average and really change the conditions of this world
for the better are sadly asleep. Thus we have the conditions of things as they are.
The war in Iraq and all other injustices perpetrated by man against man would
be easily solved if Superman were around. But where is he? He's sleeping on the job
obviously. So are we.
Don't disturb us we need our sleep.
